Suminagashi 墨 流 し or “floating ink” is the oldest form of paper marbling - a meditative practice consists of printing patterns on paper by floating colors on the surface of water. Participants will learn the techniques and understand the history of suminagashi, cultivate awareness of how accidents or “mistakes” can be generative in the creative process and work collaboratively.
